Moving …

      54 Comments on Moving …

I’ll won’t have internet service at home for a few days because our home is changing again.  I’ll also be tied up this week with moving and then unpacking.  I’ll check comments when I can, but probably won’t be posting.

For those of you who sent me emails over the past couple of days, I’m not ignoring you.  I just don’t have time to answer them right now.

The reason for the move (which will be followed by another move around three months from now) is exciting, at least to us.  I’ll write more about it soon, but for now, it’s time to pack up the computers.

You sure know how to keep a moron in suspense.

I hope even the smart people are in a bit of suspense.

We’ll miss you. Have fun moving. (Hah, as if!)

Guess this is a good chance to catch up on the archives.

    Oh you tease!

If I could’ve ended that post with a dramatic musical flourish, I would have.

I have moved several times myself. I always joke that bad people are not sent to hell after they die. They are made to pack up and move there.

We’ll move this week and again in about three months. After that, I’m never doing it again.

Good luck. Can’t wait to hear more about the move. I can’t believe you are packing up and moving and unpacking in a week! I’ve been trying move for almost a year now, and still have at least another month to go. 🙂

Anyway, can’t wait to hear the exciting news.

My wife got an early start on the packing, but there’s still plenty to go. When I was single, I could move in a U-Haul van. A wife and two kids later, it’s a much bigger job.

Can Older Brother come to play again, then?

I’ll ask, but I don’t know if he’s got any ideas brewing for posts.

  10. Ken

please don’t bother coming back. no one wants you…idiot.

But then where would you go to express your juvenile sentiments?

Tom just got promoted to chief science advisor at CSPI when they suddenly realised that their current approach did not seem to be working in the publics’ interest?

But in the real world, have a good move. I hate the exercise myself, but if you gotta do it…

This probably explains why I haven’t seen you frothing at the mouth on your other blog about the fact that the reason the US is in financial meltdown is apparently that it cannot borrow enough money to pay the bills, therefore borrowing more is the obvious answer…

    Priorities, I suppose…

I wrote about that on the other blog awhile back, but as you noticed, I’ve been pre-occupied lately.

I’d help you move. I really would, but you know…..I don’t wanna 😉 Have fun!

I appreciate that, but I’m a big believer in hiring professionals.

I don’t envy you having to move now and again in 3 months. I’m still traumatized by our move nearly 3 years ago. But it sounds like it is all toward a good end and worth it. It does make sense to let the professionals do it! And perhaps unpack as little as possible in the intervening time???

Here’s another for the “what we’re up against”: http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/fats-dietary-guidelines-detail-the-good-the-bad-and-risky/2011/07/20/gIQAXpUfaI_story.html I commented and plugged Fat Head. Even if the stupid author doesn’t read the comments, perhaps other readers will.

Good thing my desk isn’t set up. I’d be banging my head on it.

I HOPE YOU FART A LOT WHEN YOU MOVE…….

    HOT NASTY SWEAT FARTS

Not likely to happen, since I don’t eat grains or beans anymore.

Congratualtions on the move. Can’t wait to hear about the details. Saw in the paper today on tbo.com that McDonald’s happy meal will be including in their meal and not fries. You can get fries instead of apples if you ask for it. Love to follow your blog .. you have truely opened my eyes to cholestrol and how to eat.. My husband and I are trying to eat better..

Thank you. The move (the first one, anyway) should be completed today.

Tom– I can’t wait to hear your good news. Tom Naughton presidential candidate perhaps? Naughton 4 Prez!! A girl can dream, right ?

In reference to @ Peggy’s post: I would loooove to see you publish a rebuttal (and it CAN’T be THAT time comsuming). The bolied down facts seem to be solid food = fat. Therefore, we should all be on liquid diets? Mine’s going to have to be mostly scotch to get through living in this crazy world, I’m afraid.
Good luck with the move, can’t wait to hear your news!

  25. The Older Brother

McDonald’s is probably going to have to upgrade all of their garbage cans a couple of sizes to accomodate all those apples!

    Cheers.

The bright side of all this moving is that your poor forehead gets a chance to rest up and heal for a few days. 😀

    Tom,

You’ll never make it in Hollywood. You’ll always been a 3rd rate documentary film maker. You’re a loser 🙂

    Enjoy your baldness.

    -Kenny

Kenny — I have no desire to make it in Hollywood, since it’s an awful place and an even worse culture. I live in Tennessee for good reason. However, I went to an insurance office today to sign some papers for a new policy my wife arranged over the phone, and the insurance agent (an attractive twenty-something woman) looked at the name on the application, looked at me, and said, “Oh my god! Are you the same Tom Naughton who made Fat Head?!”

So you’ll pardon me if I don’t concern myself with the opinions of an anonymous troll whose biggest accomplishment in life is leaving snarky comments on someone else’s blog.

Yeah, Mr. Tom. Hot twenty somethings are star struck. Awesome. You have earned it. I keep recommending your film. I hope they get it. I’ve probably watched it ten times. I’m starting to look really good in the mirror. Six pack is almost back. Thanks to you, T.

I appreciate the word-of-mouth marketing … and congrats on looking better in the mirror. I assume that’s been accompanied by feeling better, too.

If you are moving to Wyoming……I’ll organize a welcoming committee…..sorry….make that a welcoming party….,,would you settle for one friendly face and a loyal dog?

I’m always up for meeting a kind person and a loyal dog, but we’ll still be in Tennessee.
