After a nine-hour car trip home from Chicago yesterday and a late-afternoon appointment with my sadis … er, physical therapist today, I’m worn out.\u00a0 I’m going to sit in the easy chair, put an ice pack on my knee and watch the Olympics.<\/p>\n
The swelling in the knee is finally receding — I see the outline of a kneecap now — but I’ve got a ways to go.\u00a0\u00a0 Same goes for range of motion:\u00a0 better, but a long way to go.\u00a0 The physical therapist told me this is the critical period … people who don’t do their exercises at this point in the post-surgical recovery are the ones who end up with frozen knees.\u00a0 Having lived through a frozen shoulder (courtesy of a totally incompetent physical therapist in California), I won’t let that happen to the knee.<\/p>\n
