I hope all of you in areas affected by the winter storm are staying warm and safe.
We had snow in our part of Tennessee, but nothing like what landed in areas north and east of us. Our driveway is impassable for now, but we knew that was coming and made plans to stay put.
Here’s a quick look at a snowy weekend on the farm. Some work, some play.

A night like this calls for a little music sung by one of my favorites, none other than the venerable Rod Stewart:

Sweet.
Love the home movies.
Thank you.
Aren’t you worried about being bitten by snow snakes?
Did you have to put that thought in my head?

Thanks — I was hoping you’d post something like this. It makes me think of a Grandma Moses painting. Also hoping that you are enjoying some of that firewood you stored up.
Oh yeah, the wood-burning stove has been busy this week.
Looks Great Tom
Way too much fun. Enjoy….

I’m so glad to see the home movie! What a great time you guys were having! Lucky girls! It made me happy to hear all was well at your farm since I heard Tennessee was added to the Emergency declarations list. Can you believe we actually had snow in north central Florida yesterday? My poor granddaughter went to her car to go to work and called me and asked if that white stuff was ash floating down from the sky and had I heard of a fire anywhere around? (We have forest fires around here that do produce ash floating down. I had to laugh this time.) Poor child doesn’t remember snow from Colorado when she was 3 years old. Obviously, our snow wasn’t anything to write home about.
Stay warm and safe!
Not bad around here at all. Schools were closed Friday (and again tomorrow because the hasn’t melted in some areas), the office where I work was closed Friday, but this is nothing like the snowstorms I experienced during my 15 years in Chicago. Just enough snow to make it fun for us.
Lucky lucky girls to have such great parents! I remember (alas, dimly) being that age and just loving playing out in the snow for hours and not minding the cold or the wet feet or the snow getting into your jacket arms and and and…
And mum and dad not hovering and disliking the snow and quashing the girls — but actually hopping on the sled with them?! Brilliant! Total WAY to go, Tom and Chareva!!
The snow is a rare treat for us old folks too.
